Help & Advice

We all want the very best for our pets especially when pregnant. It can be a stressful time so here are some helpful tips.

Help & Tips

1. Have your dog vaccinated, wormed and fleed in good time, so the unborn pups are well protected.
2. Have her scanned to confirm pregnancy, you can do this from 28 days after first mating.
3. Signs of pregnancy. Refusal to eat, being sick, sleeping, nipples get bigger, being over clingy.
4. Gradually increase a good quality puppie food into her diet, small but frequent will ensure nutrition required.
5. It is still good for her to exercise, so take her on stress free safe walk away from other dogs.
6. If your dog is on any type of medication talk to your vet to find out if it should be changed or stopped.
7. No need to give her any extra vitamins or supplements unless vets advise you to.
8. Consider the cost if your dog has trouble delivering her puppies. Be prepared with knowing where your nearest vet is including the cost and important phone numbers.
